Daily Alert – Thurs 21 Nov: Fed calls halt to rate cuts; US Gov annoys China

The Fed minutes revealed that the voters believe the rate cut cycle is at an end unless there is a substantial deterioration in the economy. This moves the Fed from a rate cutting cycle to a neutral stance, with the downwards pressure on the USD now abated.

The US House of Representatives pass the Hong Kong bill much to China’s chagrin. It will hit Trump’s desk today – will he sign it or not?

There is little volatility in the markets this week. This happens from time to time and we must avoid the temptation to trade for trading’s sake.
