Daily Alert – Thurs 31 Oct: Sentiment sours on bad data, profit taking

Personal Spending and the Fed’s chosen measure of Inflation, Core PCE, both miss expectation to the downside. Markets turn risk-off despite Trump assuring us the China trade deal Phase 1 will be signed in mid November. There’s another issue – it’s month end and there is definitely a lot of profit taking going on, giving the appearance of risk-off, if not actually being as risk off as the charts would suggest.

My USDCAD reversal play is stuck around the entry price.

This is another quiet week. If anything of note happens today or tomorrow I will let you know via the WhatsApp group.
