Daily Alert – Wed 11 Sept: Strong positive sentiment as Bolton fired, China emollient, US rate cut expected

Sentiment is positive as the hawkish Bolton is fired, China make positive noises ahead of further face-to-face trade talks and the prospect of a rate cut at next week’s Fed meeting. We are also in the Fed “blackout period” where the Fed members do not talks to the media. I do think this lack of commentary stops the markets over-thinking and getting their knickers in a twist.

Equities are rising (although not everywhere) and, as always, the commodity currencies are getting a boost from the improvement in risk tone (sentiment).

I take a second bite at the Japan225 long.
