Daily Alert – Wednesday 17th June 2020: Fed Chair Powell sees no end to QE

Yesterday, in front of the US Senate Banking Committee, Fed Chair Powell said they are “some years away from halting asset purchases”. So it looks like we will be staying in the crazy, artificial world of central bank socialism for the foreseeable future. Oh well, at least we know what happens – equities keep going up.

Risk sentiment is moderately risk-on but there is little movement outside of equities and most of that happened on Monday.

My GBPJPY long hit stop loss at breakeven as the buoyancy on the GBP came to a screeching halt with yesterday’s bad Claimant Count Change figures.
