Daily Alert – Wednesday 25th November 2020: Sentiment sours as US Thanksgiving approaches

Monday and Tuesday saw risk-on sentiment, pulling me into S&P500 long and CADJPY long on Monday night. Both trades are doing fine, and I have closed half of each trade for a profit as pricing reversed earlier today due to sentiment souring prior to tomorrow and Friday’s US Thanksgiving holiday.

The holiday closure may reduce volatility in US equity indices and the USD but I will still be on the lookout for other price drivers independent of the US holiday, for example Brexit-inspired GBP moves and sentiment-driven forex moves.

I’ll be back on Friday with a weekly review and brief videos of all closed trades.
