Monthly and YTD Performance: June 2022, +3.4%

June, like May, was a tough trading month as markets continued to worry about inflation, hawkish central banks, Russia’s war in Ukraine and, now, the threat of recession.

I completed only two trades of which one was a winner and one was breakeven. The winner was AUDJPY long producing a gain of 3.34 percent. The second was WTI long where I was taken out at breakeven (+0.02 percent) by an intraday spike down to my stoploss. Irritating.

The total for the month was a gain of 3.4 percent. Year-to-date sees a gain of 36.2 percent.

I have to remind myself that making 3.4 percent in a “bad month” isn’t really that bad at all.

The video contains more information on the rationale for these trades and their management. This is a great learning resource. There’s always something to learn from this kind of post-event review.
