Trading Plan – Monday 7th June 2021: Miss on Chinese Trade Balance sours mood

Good afternoon traders.

Before we start, let us wrap up last week: I closed my WTI long on Friday night for a gain of +1.36%. The usual brief video is in the members area.

We have had a slightly sour start to the week with the only major item on the economic calendar being Chinese Trade Balance which missed expectations.
Risk sentiment is indecisive as of 3pm BST.

I will continue the trading experiment into a third week. After two weeks we are 0.5% up. Not great but it is zero effort trading.

The economic calendar features GDP in the US, Japan and the UK, CPI in the US and China and two rate decisions – European Central Bank and Bank of Canada. Remember, in week 16 the BoC cut their QE programme by 25%, so it will be interesting to see what they say and do on Wednesday.

Happy trading. I will be back on Wednesday.
