Weekly Review: Friday 21st December 2018

The year ends with a whimper. Global equities are significantly down over the week and the entire year. We were risk off for most of the week. The highlight of the week was the Fed’s “dovish hike” which lowered the USD and pushed up GOLD, as expected. Equities should have risen, but dropped as negative sentiment overwhelmed the positives of fewer rate hikes.

My GOLD long and USDJPY short both closed at around 3 x risk.

December performance was +4.3% and +30.2% for the year.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I’ll be seeing you on the 3rd January for another roller-coaster year.
