Weekly Review: Friday 6th July 2018

A quiet week dominated by trade concerns and the US holiday on Wednesday. The FOMC minutes revealed concerns about trade wars but indicated no change to the rate hiking cycle.

Today, tariffs began in earnest on Chinese imports to the US. China retaliated. In the UK Teresa May has a date with destiny at Chequers as she presents her third option for a customs arrangement to her cabinet. It already looks dead in the water.

Oil finally presented us with a nice black candle on Thursday.

As of Friday morning, I am long on Dow30 and Euro50 and short on WTI.
